Apartments
Commercial Premises
Year of Construction
This project was built in 2012. We transformed a run-down canteen and housing units in poor conditions into eight beautiful apartments and two commercial premises. This rehabilitation process managed to renew a declining neighborhood, as it influenced property owners to restore adjoining houses.Casa Juan Jaramillo offers its residents the opportunity to live in the center of Cuenca, near the 10 de Agosto municipal farmers’ market and the central park, in new and restored apartments and lofts that reuse original materials found in the old building —such as wood, brick, adobe, and marble—, creating a special and unique environment. This construction harmoniously integrates the new and the old, preserving its original structure, illuminating the spaces with natural light that comes from a patio and a backyard, with cozy gardens surrounded by adobe walls. From the communal terrace, you can admire the fabulous Cathedral domes, the innumerable church towers, and the rooftops of the old town.
