Year of Construction
This is the first rehabilitation project carried out by ISAM.It is a multifunctional building located in the iconic Barranco (cliff) of the Tomebamba river. This small building is located on a 50-meters long and 11-meters wide site, with a 12-meters slope, which gives it its special structure. It is made up of 5 apartments, offices and a restaurant. The construction has an outdoor staircase on one side, which creates patios and terraces that connect with the Barranco, facing the river and the lower part of the city. From the terraces, the Tomebamba river, the mountains, and the modern city can be admired. For new construction, we rescued the original and traditional elements —such as adobe walls, stone floors and walls, brick floors and terraces, handmade roof tile— and as in all our projects, a beautiful jacaranda tree has a special place in the central courtyard.
